Here’s some good news for all the cows and environment lovers. The National Green tribunal has banned the use of disposable plastic, which is mainly used for grocery and regular chai cups in Delhi and the National Capital region (NCR), with effect from Jan 1st, 2017.

While Delhi was chilling {literally) with the smog and the pollution, the NGT lashed out at the Government for showing laxity for the same, and took imperative steps to curb the quickly-escalating problem with the help of a bench headed by NGT chairperson, Swatantar Kumar.

Along with banning plastic, the NGT has also directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and other public authorities to effectively reduce and use dumped waste.

So next year, enjoy your kullad chai instead!
