A lockdown baby I was super excited to discover was Nicky’s Gâteaux, started by holistic health coach and nutritionist Sangeeta Kukreja. Wanting to show a way all of us could indulge in rich, homemade desserts without the guilt, Nicky’s Gâteaux has incredibly fudgy brownies, rich cakes and luxe tortes, made with almond flour and super high quality nuts and fruits, that look as good as they taste.
On the menu, the first thing you need to check out is their range of tortes; they've got flavours like classic almond, walnut mocha, Persian rosa and orange blossom (my personal favourite) that all come with caramelised nuts and the perfect moist base. If you're more of a classic dessert sort of person, they've got rich and fudgy chocolate brownies and even raspberry velvet brownies that are the perfect upgrade from red velvet brownies. They also do full cakes you can get if you're celebrating, with their strawberry creme fraiche cheesecake that's the crowdpleaser.
