I'll not mince my words - I love kurtas. They're light, airy, comfortable, easy to move in, and since not a lot of people wear them aside from festive occasions, they make me stand out. So it was pretty natural for me to be drawn towards these handwoven kurtas from Nishabd that look beautiful and celebrate our rich artisan heritage.
I got the Pink Lily Bagru Print Kurta from this e-store. It fits well, the cotton feels amazing on my skin and the combination of pink with light sea green looks very cheerful and bright. I have worn it with linen pyjamas, jeans, and pants, and personally, I like it best with linen pyjamas. Perfectly relaxed from top to bottom. At INR 1,750, the kurta isn't expensive either.
Choosing this particular kurta out of Nishabd's other excellent pieces was a pretty tough task, though. The Gulmohar Ajrakh kurta and the Deep Indigo Ajrakh kurta made matters very tricky. But who says I can only have one, right? They are next picks for sure.
Apart from these long kurtas, I also found short kurtas and shirts at Nishabd which would make for good casual and semi-formal wear. The Ikkat prints on these are definitely eye-catching.
