I won't mince my words - I love kurtas. They're light, airy, comfortable, easy to move in, and since not a lot of people wear them aside from festive occasions, they make me stand out. So it was pretty natural for me to be drawn towards these handwoven kurtas from Aashima Wahal that look beautiful and celebrate our rich artisan heritage.
I got the Blue Lotus Bagru Print Kurta from this e-store. It fits well, the cotton feels amazing on my skin and the combination of blue with magenta looks very cheerful and bright. I have worn it with linen pyjamas, jeans, and pants, and personally, I like it best with linen pyjamas. Perfectly relaxed from top to bottom. At INR 2,299, the kurta isn't expensive either.
Choosing this particular kurta out Aashima Wahal's other excellent pieces was a pretty tough task, though. The Geometric Floral Printed Ajrakh Kurta and the Peach Bagru Printed Kurta made matters very tricky. But who says I can only have one, right? They are my next picks for sure.
Apart from these long kurtas, I also found short kurtas and shirts which would make for good casual and semi-formal wear. The Ikat prints on these are definitely eye-catching.
