What's Happening

The North East Festival is back for its sixth edition and you absolutely cannot miss it. Every year, this festival (organised with support from the eight state governments of North East) brings together the best of food, music, dance and souvenirs from the North East at one single place.

For this festival's latest edition happening from Oct 26 to 28 at the IGNCA in Janpath, you can expect up to 40 musical acts, including those by Papon, Zubeen Garg, Arunachal's Omak Kamut Collective and more. We're told that there'll be more than 35 food stalls offering authentic north eastern dishes on the side, so expect everything from Smoked Pork and Eromba to Bamboo shoot fry and rice beers.

For when you're done with your share of music and food, stop by the handloom and handicrafts stalls to pick up Naga Shawls, pickles (bhut jholokia maybe?), organic teas, cane furniture, muga silk saris and much more.

Make A Note

If you can't get enough of Northeastern handlooms, be sure to drop by for the Handloom Show as well. A rock band competition (open to everyone), traditional music and dance performances are some other things that you can expect at this year's festival.
