The Oberoi Hotel is Shutting Down for Two Years

The information in this post might be outdated

According to this report in the Times of India, the iconic Oberoi Hotel, on Zakir Hussain Marg will be closing for two years, starting April 2016.

While they aren't going to raze the entire hotel to the ground, there will be extensive renovations in the guest rooms and public areas. Although the hotel is now 50 years old, which is pretty young for a facelift {The Imperial opened in 1936 and was renovated in 2001}, it was the first in the country to introduce 24-hour in-room dining service, butler service, and round-the-clock butler service. Impressive, much?

We don't know about you, but we're sure going to miss it.
