The Iconic Oberoi Hotel Just Got A Massive Makeover; And It's Relaunching

The information in this post might be outdated

The Oberoi Hotel, one of New Delhi’s oldest, just underwent a major makeover and is about to knock everyone’s socks off at its relaunch. The revamp of the hotel took about 20 months (and only about $100 million – no biggie).

Overlooking the Delhi Golf Course on one side and Humayun’s Tomb on the other, this 52-year old property in the heart of the city will now look more along the modern architectural lines. As a result of making it bigger and more spacious, the number of rooms will be reduced to 220 from a previous 283—extra opulence intended. There will be indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, super-fast WiFi, and a contemporary aesthetic inspired by Sir Edwin Lutyens.

And, since Delhi’s been wrestling with pollution for far too long, The Oberoi will have their guests breathe the “cleanest air possible”. The launch will happen at the dawn of the new year, January 1, and guests will be treated to luxury Italian bathrooms, teak wooden flooring, a spa, and a whole lot of other elements that will remind us of exactly how iconic The Oberoi is.

Where: The Oberoi New Delhi, Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg

When: January 1
