The walk ' Of doors & floors' - part of a two city walk that with a special focus on built forms, in this case, doors of Delhi & Floors in Mumbai!
Street environment is an important part of Purani Dilli, as much as strewn and crumbling bits of history. Its Kuchas and Katras tell a tale, not only of a time in housing but of the world that once was - as do its doors, both open and closed, cusped or arched in the havelis of Kucha Pati Ram & around. The walk negotiates with the pocket, its histories & stories as it exists today - at the street level!
And of course, besides being a visual delight the walk includes the famous bedmi breakfast of Old Delhi.
It will run on Sunday, 11th August, 8:00 -10:00am outside Chawri Bazaar Metro station, Old Delhi. The walk will run at a contribution of INR 500 per head. You have to email beyondbombay@gmail.com to register
