Imagine digging into Nutella Oreo Cheesecake, Vanilla and Salted Caramel Cake or a Lemon Raspberry Financier minus the ton of guilt that comes with it? That's exactly what To Pastry With Love is all about. Founder Lavanya Arora wanted to change the way people look at food --- that there are cakes beyond thick layers of fondant and not all cakes are a ticket to diabetes. This cloud bakery, based in Delhi, specialises in non-fondant based cakes; has gluten-free and eggless on the menu, and also makes vegan cakes, on request. And they look pretty gorgeous, if you ask us.
An artist, stylist and then a chef, Lavanya is professionally trained in Baking and Pastry Arts from The Culinary Institute Of America. And the art of food is visible on her beautiful cakes (you'll even find aztec prints on some cakes). Drawing inspiration from the European and French style of baking, To Pastry With Love's menu includes everything from small treats like financiers, brownies, tarts to pies, tea cakes, custom cakes, artisan breads and entremets (mousse cakes). In fact, they only use couverture chocolate (meaning high-quality chocolates) like Callebaut or Valrhona, for all their baked items, making them moderately sweet. There's also a Messy Tequila Cake on the menu which has orange, cinnamon, expresso and tequila, which sounds really interesting! Our favourite? The gluten-free entremet --- a brown butter orange cake topped with a dark chocolate coffee mousse, super indulgent and moist.
They deliver all across Delhi. To place an order with To Pastry With Love, it's preferable to book a day or two in advance. The cakes start at INR 1800 per kg; pricing differs from flavour to flavour. The custom cake pricing starts at INR 3000 per kg; depending on the design of the cake. And if you want to order trial boxes/ individual desserts/ brownie boxes etc, the range starts at INR 700. If you're looking for a gifting option, they also do customised gift-hampers and corporate gifting.
