What Makes It Awesome

Biennale or not, the iconic David Hall continues to draw art enthusiasts and the likes. And now, there's much more than art. There's food! And good food that too, courtesy Pandhal Cafe & Deli. Located inside the art gallery and sprawling out to the backyard of David Hall, Pandhal is the perfect space to take a break while exploring the culture and heritage of Fort Kochi. The cafe offers a global menu with some Kerala-influenced dishes. All-day breakfast is on the menu so is wood-fired pizza.

Although we wanted to try the Sundried Tomato Cheese Bagelwich, we skipped past that and the Small Plates and went straight for the Duck Birria. Perfectly cooked duck served with a pineapple salsa, and tangy, flavourful consomme. We paired that with a Spiced Pineapple Granita. We have our eye on the Korean BBQ Pork Rice Bowl and of course, one of the pizza.

The deli section serves freshly baked babka, croissants, bread loaves, cakes, and bakes such as eclairs and tarts. The babka is divine!

While you wait for your food swing by the art gallery and go through the paintings. The beautiful garden is often a photo-op spot with folks taking countless photos against the greenery.

Pro-Tip

They also have another outlet located in Ernakulam city, in Panampilly Nagar.
