Squishy, Squashy: This Papier Mache Workshop Is The Therapy We Need

Ipsita posted on 9th February

What Is It?

The sun these days is nice and shiny, and we can’t help but feel somewhat crafty. Which is why this papier mache workshop is calling out to us. Easy enough for unskilled folks like us to not get intimidated, and crafty enough so that we feel like we’ve accomplished something substantial.

Yes, we’re all about the balance.

Who Is It For?

Technically, it’s for anyone above the age of eight. More specifically, it’s awesome for anyone who nurses a love for easy craft forms, recycling, and also doing something productive on a Sunday.

Why Should I Go For It?

Because spas and psychologists are not the only means of therapy. You’ll know what we’re talking about when you get your hands dirty! They’ll teach you the process of pulp making with a squishy mixture of paper and multani mitti.

While papier mache is practiced worldwide, you’ll learn the typical form that originates from Bihar and Jharkhand. You’ll even learn freehand mould making and sculpture techniques, all in a serene and relaxed setting.

Anything Else?

In addition to this, the workshop will include walks of the Sanskriti Museum, Crafts Museum, and public & private studios as well as an evening high tea. All the material for the papier mache workshop will be provided by the organisers; you just need to bring a utensil or mould for shaping the papier mache pulp.
