Trying to pick a vacation spot? We say Bali is the place to go. With its clear blue waters and amazing natural landscapes, this Indonesian island paradise should definitely be on your list. And hey, tickets are cheap and there are plenty of things to do.

Kuta Beach: Clubs, Shopping & Food

Getting the obvious out of the way, Kuta beach is the place for nightlife in Bali. It’s like HKV but with a beach. Part of the capital city of Denpasar, it has the maximum people visiting. But we suggest you come here in the evening after exploring all the other parts of the island over the day.

You can kick back at the beach and enjoy surfing lessons as well as the sunset if you feel like lazing around.

Nusa Dua: Blue Waters & Uluwatu Temple

Located on the south-eastern side of the island and a short bus ride away from the airport, this is where you’ll see the clearest blue water you’ll ever come across. The most popular spot is the Uluwatu {Sea} Temple, where you’ll also find some highly entertaining monkeys trying to steal your stuff {It’s fun to see them at work}.

Also, do check out Waterblow. There’s a very beautiful park to walk around in, and then you get to stand amongst the rocks and experience the crashing waves.

Gili Islands: So You Think You Can Scuba?

A short ferry ride from the main island, Gili Island is the place for watersports. Go snorkelling with the Manta Rays, the White or Black Tip Sharks or sea turtles.

You could even go for some deep sea diving, swim with the fishes, get your diver’s license and be on your way to being a pro.

Bali Bird & Reptile Park

If bird watching is your thing {we mean the real ones}, then you’ll fall in love with this place. With close to 1,000 birds and 250 different species, you’ll go crazy {again, we mean real birds}. You even get to play with them and get pictures clicked with them.

Oh, and don’t forget to check out the reptiles section. There’s a certain dragon {read Komodo} you might want to see before you head out.

Mt. Batur & Mt. Agung: Volcano It

Located towards the northern side of the island, Mt. Batur and Mt. Agung are the two largest active volcanoes situated on the island, Agung being the biggest one. There are regular treks to these two volcanoes. We went to Mt. Babur and it is one of the most serene experiences of your life. Daring are we? Why not give Agung a shot?

And how can we miss the food? There’s so much Indonesian cuisine to try. From nasi goreng to beef rendang, you’re bound to pine for more. Restaurants line up the streets and you’ll go happy crazy with so many options.
