Paradise for Little Readers is an online shop based out of Gurgaon and run on Facebook, selling pre-owned international titles of children’s books for pennies.

Give Us The Summary

Whether we get as much time to read as we’d like or not, books have never gone out of style for children. The really good ones can cost as much as, if not more than, books for grown ups but of course kids pore through them faster and occasionally rip a page or two.

Shivani Kanodia, a recent mum, took matters into her own hands and decided to source second-hand books from abroad, which are now happily finding new homes in NCR and the rest of India.

Give Us Some Names

All the biggies from the world of littles – Julia Donaldson, Beatrix Potter, Eric Carle, Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton and new age favourites like Usborne and Amazing Baby – are available from INR 90 – INR 300.

Much like grown up books, a lot of the joy is in discovering unknown names and chancing upon a new title that you get stuck on; Shivani brings a regular roster of waiting-to-be-discovered books and writers for ages 0 till 8.

How Loved Is Pre-Loved?

We found the books in pretty decent condition {considering the next reader isn’t going to be too discerning} and it’s actually more charming to see the proud handwriting of a kid from across the world having owned and loved this very same book that you hold in your hands now.

Placing An Order

All new arrivals are announced on the Facebook page and sort-of-playground rules apply; once you say a title is yours, Shivani will hold it for you. If your cart reaches INR 1,500, woohoo, free shipping.

But if your little reader can’t wait for the book to arrive {and we completely empathise}, pick up can be arranged from Sector 54 in Gurgaon.
