The Couple’s Rose Therapy At Woo Wellness & Spa at Pullman Aerocity is a three-hour experiential that will leave you relaxed {and pamper you silly}, while also giving you quality time with your SO.

Not Another Dinner Date

As somebody who’s not big on massages, I wasn’t even particularly keen to check out the idea of a 3-hour massage/facial/sauna/rosebath experience. However, the idea of doing something on Valentine’s Day with my fiancé that wasn’t a candlelit dinner or watching a rom-com in bed did seem intriguing, so I figured it made sense to vet the option for readers and see if it was worth it. The idea of being surrounded by fresh floral blossoms and the intermingling aromas of rose and jasmine, however, finally got in touch with my feminine side and I appeared {albeit grudgingly} for this couple’s therapy {I suppose I should be grateful it wasn’t the kind of couple’s therapy that involved a pad-toting psychiatrist and divorce-lawyer aftermath}.

Ushered into a serene room replete with candles, strewn petals and all the paraphernalia that a romantic experience makes {post a leisurely sipping of orange-aniseed green tea}, we were greeted by two beds just far apart enough to give you space, but close enough to keep you within earshot of the other {so conversation doesn’t strain}. We started with the rose oil massage {if you’re allergic to the strong scent, you can request olive oil and they’ll comply—but the aroma is worth toughing out a light cough or sneeze for}. I was surprised at how fast it vanquished my fears about massages by the third, gentle back-knot crack. I got lucky, and was massaged by a lovely masseuse named Veronica, who understood both my fears about too much pressure and my requests about which parts of my body were locked up the worst after daily gym sessions {with no time to cool down}. My massage-unenthusiast fiancé also had a very sweet, patient masseuse {whose name I don’t recall, because I as too busy bonding with mine to ask} that took his concerns equally seriously.

A full-body massage that went on for an hour slipped by easily because of the aromatherapy candles and floral oil scents the room was rife with. Not to mention, placing you in a space for a series of hours with no internet, no distractions and just sheer, unadulterated quality time to talk to your partner. The staff is helpful and not overbearing, tending to your pressure points without assuming they know best about your joints and pain threshold. The experience, is indeed, relaxing.

Then came the facials, a varicoloured process with a scrub, a cream cleanse, a face massage and a face pack {with skin goodies laden with floral essences flown in from obscure villages in France}. An hour-long experience that went by swiftly because of all the sweet smells {and just that feeling of having toxins pulled out of in a if-Dementors-were-good-guys way, the facial actually left my skin feeling legitimately softer and totally devoid of black/white heads {or any colour, really}.

The last leg, a rose bath, was quiet and relaxing, allowing for a half an hour long soak in a tub, replete with fragrant bath salts and rose petals. A great time to let all the fussing and plumping sink in, listen to what my mother calls ‘plinky-plunky’ music {soft and devoid of uptempo parts} and think, this ending up being a well-planned, relaxing end to the three-hour experience. The additional half-hour, if you’re doing the math, can be spent in the sauna pre or post your session; totally up to you.

So, We're Saying

A little heads up: A quality massage has never come cheap, and this one is no exception. Add to it the steam/sauna with no real time limit {try not to be a squatter, though}, the facial and the luxurious soak in a tub for two, and you realise why it’s called an indulgence.

Price: INR 15,000 plus taxes for a couple.
