To break the ice its a drink that contains vital ingredients from our childhood- Roohafza. Mr Qureshi, the chef of Pyaar Mohabbat Sharbat Wala takes packaged Amul milk in a huge pot, dumps Roohafza and sugar syrup in it and throws in gigantic lumps of ice to keep the mixture cool and fresh. This typical summer drink that we’ve all had as kids is further elevated by the addition of sliced and cubed watermelon chunks. The result is a deliciously refreshing concoction that tastes a little bit nostalgic, a little bit excitingly unfamiliar – a whole lot like passion– sweet, energizing, with a slight bite to it.
