We would have dismissed Brew Cafe in Hauz Khas market as just another coffee-and-sandwich place if it wasn’t for the fact that they’ve got Maggi and the likes of palak paneer and chicken rice in a very cosy setting. The DL is that, by March, they’ll become a full-fledged wine and beer bar. Not sure if that’s going to be the best idea ever but hey, we’ll grab a glass of wine with pakoras on a rainy day and let you know how that goes.

Oh Cheese!

The cafe was unusually packed for a month-old cafe and we’re glad it’s away from the village’s crowds and noise. If you ask us, it seemed like a good choice if you don’t want to have your ginger honey chai in deathly silence.

Started by two friends to celebrate their undying love for coffee and food in general, the idea is to turn Brew Cafe into a place that the neighbourhood loves for evening catch-ups or brekkie dates.

The menu is a bit of everything with pizzas, pasta, burgers, shakes, coffee and a very exhaustive DIY sandwich menu that’s a manic organiser’s dream. You can obsess over every little detail and pick out exactly what loaf, dressing and veggies go into the making of your ideal wholesome sandwich. We had one with paneer, zucchini, onions and cheese tucked inside good ol’ white bread. The sauce and cheesy filling was comforting and the portion was big enough to feed two hungry office-goers at lunchtime without leaving them bursting at the seams. Their INR 200 breakfast spread is actually on our to-try list next {the poha and hash brown, in particular, are screaming our name}.

So, We're Saying...

If you’re around, drop by for a quick bite and waste no time ordering their cheese samosa.
