What Makes It Awesome

First in Ambala Cantt., Ram Chander and Sons. set up shop in Connaught Place in 1935. Currently run by the fourth and fifth generations of the family, this store has been catering to the whims of children and adults equally, for years and years!

A little overwhelming on the inside, with stacks and stacks of toy boxes, India’s oldest toy store is a child’s — and a collector’s —dream come true. Stocking a range of figurines, electric train sets, remote controlled cars, and anything that can be scaled down to a tiny model, the store is a galore of display figures and model making items (some exclusive, like Revell). They take immense pride in noting that they have been shipping worldwide since YEARS, even though now they have an online store for the same. Who knew that the Katrina Barbie would have to be shipped to 54 countries? (Now that’s what we call a collector’s item). The latest fads have been the action figurines and comic luggage tags and key chains. For a store that keeps models that range from INR 3,000 to lakhs of rupees, we assure you that you will find whatever you’re looking for. If you don’t know what you really want, the store does a great job of suggesting just the right thing.

Collectors worldwide recommend RCS Toys (their oldest customer is a nonagenarian!), and we amateurs too.
