What Makes It Awesome

This vintage label was started around two years ago by Asu Longkumer and Aesha Merchant. Asu was assisting Aesha for a styling project when both of them realised how similar their style sense was.

They came up with the name Red Empress, which is highly symbolic of their love for feminism (the word Empress has been used as a synonym for words like queen and boss).

While Aesha makes trips back to her family in New Zealand almost twice a year to find some of their coolest pieces, Asu hunts down just as many great pieces from Bombay and the fashionable North-East. You can spot mostly very colourful, vibrant, and intense garments on their e-shop.

Think Versace and Chanel inspired gold chain linked printed shirts, or satin trousers with a bit of feather-work on the hem. They also have cool, extravagantly embellished jackets. What we really love about this label is that it has lots of funky and bold printed shirts - picture huge sunflowers printed on a teal shirt, or half sleeved shirts in peacock blue and yellow patterns and prints.

Red Empress has vintage wear for both men and women, so that's also a plus point. Their apparel is priced between INR 2,500 to INR 8,000.

What Could Be Better

Since they do not have an offline store, you've to book yourself in for an appointment to go over and see whatever they've stocked. That seems a bit tedious.
