If you're looking for Indian wear that's simple but still exudes a rich look, we suggest you check out Sajilee.
Based in Jaipur, Sajilee stocks kurtis, sarees, dupattas, scarves, body shrugs, stoles, palazzos and accessories like potli bags, cushion covers and clutches with Indian motifs. The brand mostly works with fabrics like organza, raw silk, georgette, chanderi silk, cotton and chiffon. The clothes either have gota patti work done on them or are hand painted or block printed (mostly floral designs). Sangeeta, the owner, also does western dresses and hand painted shirts, pocket squares and ties for men on order basis.
We spotted some beautiful chiffon dupattas and scarves in georgette -- watch out for the one with hand-painted buds on them. The range of kurtis also left us impressed -- simple, elegant yet stands out thanks to the designs. I loved this blue kurta made of chanderi silk with pittan work done on it. Match it with the chiffon dupatta in similar colour and you're all set to attend that family get-together or any light function. Also, browse through the collection of organza and silk sarees perfect for casual wear or get-togethers.
Spruce up that dull sofa with this beautiful maroon cushion cover made of raw silk with intricate gota patti and Mughal zardosi embroidery done on it. Men! Browse through the hand-painted pocket squares and ties made of satin silk, perfect to perk up your OOTD and make you stand out in the crowd, we think! Sangeeta makes them on order basis.
Sangeeta has started a campaign called Friends of Sajilee with the aim to promote products made by lesser known traditional artisans and craftsmen of Rajasthan. She aims to provide a platform for them to sell their products and earn enough to sustain their livelihoods.
