If we were to think of Rajasthan, then the first thing to come to the mind is the run-of-the-mill Jaipur and Udaipur aesthetic that feels all too familiar and identical at this point. But what if I told you there's more to your Rajasthan trip than just mahals, lakes, and mandirs? Yes, that's right!

Even I didn't know I needed a weekend like this until I was deep in it and wrapped in the scent of wet soil, sipping cocktails as the clouds rolled over endless green fields over the 49 bigha of Sangam Farms — a luxe farm stay 130 kms away from Udaipur, nestled in the heart of Bhilwara.

Sangam Farms, on the surface, may appear to be a regular staycation spot, but there's more to it than meets the eye, it's a whole mood, a feel, a kind of soft, slow magic that stays with you long after you've left the place.

My stay at Sangam Farms was for 2 nights and 3 days, and each hour felt like a break from our busy, fast-paced city lives. From the chandan tilak at the entrance to the tent we stayed in, every detail was refreshing and brought with it a grounding feeling that's hard to find elsewhere.

Our Room

The property features 9 tents, out of which 5 are luxury, 3 are premium, and 1 is the presidential tent (which comes with an attached garden and two bedrooms). We stayed in one of the luxury tented suites (600 sq. ft.), which is aptly named as it felt more suite-y and villa-like than a tent, and it was way more opulent and comfortable than any tent or suite I have ever stayed in. It featured a German hanger tent with glass walls that had white blackout curtains to ensure complete privacy.

Starting from the four-poster bed to the rustic charm of the room and a luxe bathroom with smart toilet with heated seats and a Dyson hair dryer, everything was extraordinary yet simple in a way that screamed 'this is how you're supposed to live.'

There was a personal patio attached to the room that looked out into the farm, which gave me the perfect spot to witness sunsets and reflect on life. Every bit of the room felt like a personal space and a sacred sanctuary that I didn't want to leave. The bed bench and the couch in the room did not make it easy, as I spent most of my time there reading while it rained cats and dogs outside. With a mini fridge stocked with sensible munchies and trail mixes in the room, the tent in itself was worth the trip. However, what was awaiting us was even more beautiful.

Experiences At Sangam Farm

Yes, Sangam Farms is all about the slow life, away from the hustle and bustle of city culture, but that doesn't mean it cannot offer you fun activities. The property has open farming, allowing you to indulge in various farm activities — from plucking vegetables (there are over 50 English vegetables here) to feeding the cows.

With 7 Polyhouses, 1 Hydroponic house, and a dairy farm, we endlessly toured this place and learnt new, creative things about technology and agricultural practices. We got to know about cocopeat farming and its amazing benefits and if you're a nature buff or into farming, this was appeal to you too.

After touring, we dived into the adventurous side of things and started with an ATV ride (we spent an hour driving on the ATV path and still wanted to do more) and then hopped on a mini tractor. They also had a stallion experience for horseback riding but we couldn't do that as it needed to be pre-booked.

If you've relaxation on your mind, I would recommend their spa. Jennifer not only understood my concerns but also offered treatments that suited my requirements. A relaxing 30-minute spa session easily extended beyond and took away all the travel tiredness. We then went to the infinity pool, where we frolicked while overlooking one of the best sunsets we had ever seen, accompanied by our drinks. (There's also a jacuzzi next to the pool, so you can pick your preferred option)

And if you think that's the end, there's more. The property has an activity area with indoor Pickleball and Tennis court that we spent most of our time at. Vishnu was kind enough to teach us Pickleball (yes, we didn't know how to play) and patiently endured our rather annoying learning curve until we finally decided to play tennis.

You can find a gym right next to the court with a pool and a billiards table. Apart from everything that we did, we also had the option to indulge in activities like yoga, movie under the stars, and Rajputana dinner under the stars and spending time at the game/reading room which had a variety of board games and a small library. There's a Radha-Krishna mandir on this property, and you can participate in the morning or evening aarti as well.

Pro-Tip: Please ask them in advance for stallion experience, as they outsource horses for this activity. Dining or watching movies under the stars is subject to weather conditions.

Food

Saving the best for last, the highlight of Sangam Farms was truly the food for us. An essential part of any stay, food can make or break your vacation experience, and it's safe to say that Sangam Farm excels in this department. From the get-go, everything they served to us throughout was ridiculously delicious. With the concept of farm-to-table meals, every food item served at the SOL Cafe is fresh and flavourful. Chef Bikrant, with over 10+ years of experience, has put his heart and soul into curating a vegetarian menu, where every dish was wholesome.

We tried most of the items on their menu, and for our last dinner, we tried the Rajasthani Thali that left such a deep impact on me that I have visited 3 cafes in Delhi trying to relive that moment. Moving away from the food conversation, Lalit (who joined as a bartender and is now the Restaurant manager) was a key part of our experience. Since we set foot on the property, he surprised us with some of the most exquisite cocktails and mocktails. We just told this legend of a man the base for our drink, and he curate a magic potion that we haven't tasted ever. Our opinion of Lalit was also echoed by the locals who visited the cafe, as everyone looked forward to him making their drinks or suggesting drinks to them.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I want to talk about the desserts, too. They were nothing short of amazing, and we highly recommend you try their Tres Leches and Tiramisu.

Pro-Tip: They don't offer in-room dining for safety reasons, as any farm animal can get attracted to the scent.

Everything Else You Need To Know

There are certain things to keep in mind before planning your stay at Sangam Farms.

- It's a place that offers utmost peace and tranquillity, so book at least a 2-day stay to fully explore and experience the place.

- The property gets really dark after sunset, and so it's suggested that you only use a golf cart to move around the farm, as there can be frogs or other insects.

- Kids can have a wonderful time here with the kind of activities they offer.

- You'll find locals at the restaurants as it's one of the most chic ones in Bhilwara.

- Prices: Base tent rooms start at INR 25,000 plus taxes

- We suggest you opt for an all-inclusive stay plan as you'll hardly find any food places surrounding the property
