Say Cheese! Gurgaon's First Ever Camera Museum To Soon Become A Reality

Gurgaon’s camera ‘museum‘ which, thus far, operated out of the basement of curator/owner Aditya Arya’s house is set to get its very own space. The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon and Aditya Arya are going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of ‘The Museo Camera – Centre of Photography.

A disused community centre, spread over 18,000 ft., in Chakkarpur Village has been shortlisted and renovation work is likely to begin soon. The new museum will be expected to accommodate 100 visitors at a time, with dedicated spaces for galleries, a dark room and a workshop area; the project is expected to cost over INR 7 crores.

What’s on display? The city’s first camera museum will showcase rare photographs, vintage cameras and the evolution of the art of photography. Stay tuned for more details.
