Since summers are back and the temperature is rising, I have found your perfect destination to chill at and it's none other than Shimla. Being everyone's favourite place to escape when it gets too hot in the city, Shimla is precisely 360 km away from Delhi and because of the smooth way, you can reach this place in six to seven hours by car. You can opt for other conveyances as well.
Shimla is a place where you can do a number of things like roam around Mall Road and check out the shops and restaurants. You can also go for the Hatu Trek. It’s a short trek and even beginners can try their luck at this. It barely takes 5-6 hours. There is also a beautiful temple here that offers a magnificent view of the hills.
You can also visit The Ridge or take a ride in the toy train for a beautiful tour of the hill station. Though the tour is extremely slow, you must go for it if you have never taken a toy train ride before.
Another place that you can enjoy being at is Kufri {which is just another two-hour drive from Shimla} and Chadwick Waterfall. The waterfall is just 7 km from Shimla and offers a picturesque view.
I will personally recommend to book an Airbnb and go. They offer beautiful flats and a chance to interact with amazing people. The properties here are all over the place and you can pick some that are a little farther but believe me, they are worth the time and effort.
Oh, and make sure that you buy local jam here. They have an interesting range of flavours - apricot, berry, and more. Though you might feel that these are a little pricey, the quantity is pretty good {average jam price: INR 350 to 400 for a bottle}.
