During one of my leisurely scrolls on the internet, I came across Baka, founded by Rebecca Reubens—which is a slow-designed, contemporary, sustainable and ethically-handcrafted jewellery brand. A seamless intersection of craft, design and sustainability, safe to say, we couldn't get or eyes off their stunning jewellery. What we loved most about Baka's jewellery (apart from the whimsical artsy, and contemporary pieces) is their ideology. All their products are made up of clean, up-cycled materials by traditional craftsmen believing in slow fashion, swaying away from the mainstream.
When it comes to the materials used, you'll find products made up of silver, gemstones, gold plated, bamboo and even aluminium. And they have everything from nose accessories, lip rings, earrings, pendants, ear cuffs, rings and more. All in all, they've come out with 14 collections all themed and one better than the other but not at all overcrowded with mindless designs and products, standing testimony to their belief in slow-fashion and design. For us, their patang pendant, deco silver fountain earrings and their deco ella earrings are our favourites. For the collections, Pichwai and Heart are our absolute favourites.
The prices start from INR 2,100 upwards.
