Asterimos, based out of Bangalore began as a solution to a problem not many knew existed in the city: Hurt stray doggos; courtesy the many, many broken glass bottles plaguing streets on weekends. So Safia, the Founder (also an environmentalist) decided to take the two things that define this city and put it together to create an eco-friendly home decor brand. If you're wondering, it's the drinking culture (aka disposed glass bottles) and nature (recycle trash to treasure).
They started by collecting glass bottles in bulk from pubs and restaurants across the city and transformed them into beautiful pieces of art. Think decoupage Bottle Lamps, and Vases. Soon, they expanded to acquiring reclaimed wood to create stationery holders and coasters. We have our eyes set on the gorgeous tealight candles and holders made using recycled wine and short glasses. The designs are again, nature inspired -- florals patterns intricately painted on a white background for a clean finish. Since they paint all their motifs on a white background, the decor looks Victorian, almost.
That's not all, Asterimos works with NGOs across the city and specially abled people to create all of their products.
