There’s something about Sonam Kapoor’s style that sets her apart from her counterparts in Bollywood–it is the effortlessness she exudes in her style. Her wardrobe is full of well-curated pieces, ranging from classics like golden hoops and pearl necklaces to edgier and more contemporary pieces like gold foiling necklaces that cover an entire human neck!

When she’s not wearing the graceful, heirloom jewellery pieces that have been passed down in her family through the generations, she can be seen sporting and supporting local, homegrown jewellery brands across all price ranges. The healthy mix of these jewellery brands in her wardrobe gives her style an attainable and relatable edge -- perfect for someone who is still curating their style and looking for a good guide.

In honour of Sonam Kapoor's Birthday on June 9, we thought we'd celebrate this style queen with a few homegrown jewellery brands that feature regularly in her eclectic styling, and we think these brands should be on every young person’s radar. It might be her birthday, but consider this a gift from us (and her) to you.

Rhea Kapoor’s exclusive collection with the jewellery brand Pipa Bella was all things edgy and OTT. It only makes sense that Sonam Kapoor, the queen of extra, wore it too. While this collection was full of extravagant and blingy necklaces, trendy chain link earrings, and bedazzled hoops, you can find jewellery of all kinds in Pipa Bella’s regular stuff as well. The collections get updated very quickly, so they’re always on top of trends, and the quality is pretty long-lasting.

LBB Tip: Bracelet stacks are a hot trend right now, and Pipa Bella’s collections are pretty cool!

They have an exquisite collection of earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings and brooches - all of which are vintage and super valuable. The collection also houses pre-loved items from designer labels such as Chanel, YSL, Givenchy, Valentino, Tiffany & Co and more.

As the name suggests, Silver Streak is all about silver jewellery. Their range is quite extensive with simple and from what we would describe as low-key everyday pieces to more bold, statement types of jewellery. The collection houses rings, bracelets, anklets, pendants, toe rings and necklaces. If boho chic is your vibe then their collection will have your heart. Rings start at INR 750 while the necklaces start at INR 400

LBB Tip: We like how their website is easy to navigate and filter. For necklaces, you can filter according to the type of design - choker, traditional, statement, kundan and so on.

With a rather sizable fanbase on their Instagram, at first glance, you’ll realise that Olio Stories is all about creating timeless pieces of jewellery that are geometric, chic, and minimal. They’re great for amping up your everyday looks, while also adding to your collection if gold jewellery is your jam. Plus, each handcrafted piece is made out of brass and is plated with 18-carat gold. Founded by the duo, Aashna Singh and Sneha Saksena, Olio is much loved when it comes to being celebrity-approved too! That being said, we of course spotted them on Sonam Kapoor where she wore the Reversible Paisa Necklace looking chic, stylish, and sophisticated like always. You can find out more about them here.

A pretty well-known name in the world of jewellery. The brand is based out of Jaipur but has various stores in India as well as the USA, UK and Sri Lanka. Online, you can find two websites to shop from, Tribe Amrapali for traditional, bold and chunky designs and Legend Amrapali for more modern infused delicate designs that can be worn every day as well. Goes without saying that all of it is made from real gold and silver. You can browse through their extensive collections here

LBB Tip: They have a museum in Jaipur, Amrapali Museum where you can trace back the history of fine jewellery with at least 4000 pieces on display over a 6500 sq. ft. space.

Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas

Based in Delhi and Jaipur, Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers were recently spotted on Deepika Padukone at Cannes. A high-end luxury jewellery brand, with fine bridal jewellery as their trademark, they are all about regal, classic, and riveting designs with modern sensibilities. With Sonam Kapoor’s eternal elegance and leanings toward everything grandeur, we’re not surprised we spotted them on her too!

LBB Tip: Though they have a website,  we'd still suggest you book an in-store appointment if you’re in Delhi!

Diamantina

Diamantina is all about the fine luxurious diamond and jadau jewellery in 18KT gold. Spotted on celebrities like Raveena Tondon, Sara Ali Khan, Sonam Kapoor among others, this brand curates an impressive line of high jewellery, uncut jewellery, solitaires, and their pret collection - Carat Crush which is their latest collection of contemporary fine jewellery. We loved this Triple Threat Band Ring we spotted on Sonam Kapoor, it’s elegant, super classy, and celebrity-approved, of course.

ESTAA

Founded in 2010, ESTAA is a brand that handcrafts and customises bridal haute couture and contemporary jewellery in gold, silver and titanium, all set with natural diamonds and coloured gemstones. In 2021 they launched their sustainable collection, which is made out of recycled aluminium known as KARI. It's not limited to Sonam and other Bollywood celebs as well, if you remember, a while ago, Kim Kardashian did a cover photo shoot for Vogue where she was found wearing jewellery from this brand!
