A random fluke turned into a beautiful brand, Waby Saby is a New Delhi based brand by Naina Arya that offers handcrafted beaded handbags. Naina made her first bag, the Waby Saby OG for herself using a beading technique that she learned as a child. This bag quickly became a conversation starter wherever she carried it and this is how Waby Saby came to existence.
Even though the label only started its journey in mid-Jan 2022, it has received a lot of love from its users as well as influencers such as Meghna Kaur (Shetroublemaker). They’ve expanded their collection from a mere 6 to 22 designs in a matter of months and aim to come out with new collections every 2-3 months. Find mini bags, bucket bags, slings and top handle bags - all designed by Naina herself and brought to life by a team of Indian craftswomen.
As a small business, they want every user to have the best unboxing experience and I can vouch for that - a branded sturdy outer box, thank you cards and super-soft dust bags do make it a luxe experience. I got my hands on one of the bags from their latest collection, Boho Me Blue, which is actually their first wooden beaded bag. The bag is just as shown on the website, definitely a statement piece and is actually really well made (which is a major concern when it comes to these types of bags)
The price range starts from INR 2,300 and goes up to INR 5,800 - it is a little on the pricey side but definitely worth it!
