What Makes It Awesome

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies organised a film screening at the campus in collaboration with Woodpecker International Film Festival (WIFF), on 2nd November.
WIFF is India’s renowned film festival focusing on documentaries and short films. It is globally acclaimed for focus on promoting issue-based cinema. Launched in 2013, in the backdrop of completion of 100-years of Indian cinema, the festival has organised five international editions till now.
Many aspiring filmmakers from the college had a great opportunity to learn from the whole event as the screening featured a collection of some artistic short films and documentaries namely - Babai, Bijli Giri, Blows with the wind, Chaukhat, Luck ma, Mazhabi Ladoo, The Trumpeteer, Toxic Trails and Well Done.

Films featuring in the screenings are well renowned around the world and have won several awards in international film festivals. Films like Babai, Roof Knocking, Blows with the wind, Luck Ma, The Trumpeteer have been praised for their social themes and cultural awareness. Though films like Roof Knocking and Mazhabi Laddoo may offend some people because their cinematic comment on religious tension in Gaza and India.
