Courteous & friendly staff

Wok this way

The reason Side Wok has folks often returning for a meal is for their consistently good food and friendly staff. Right off the bat they do their best to make you feel at home {we had a particularly good-natured waiter who didn’t give up on our super confused mate}.

We recommend you try the Burnt Garlic soup; the flavour of garlic is intense without being overpowering, and it’s delicious. Pair that with some Pan Fried Water Chestnut Gyoza and you’re off to a good start.

Take it to the terrace

218 Side Wok: The Pan-Asian Eatery We Keep Going Back ToThe indoors may be a little too dimly-lit {in the evening} for some, but the very same setting in their terrace area is a game-changer. We settled down comfortably and started with the Vietnamese Grilled Chicken, which was nice & tender. Playing dare-devil, we then ordered the Ca Kho Thom {simmered fish with pineapple}, but it was too sweet.

The prawn dishes, on the other hand, were our favourites; the Prawns Panang Style had big, fat pieces of juicy prawns cooked in a panang curry & topped with toasted peanuts, and the Seafood Rice with Dry Scallop was a hearty dish packing tons of flavour.

You can even have them deliver food to your place if you’re not in the mood to step out, but then you’d miss out on the fortune cookies!
