Most of us are spending this quarantine reading books and engaging in mindful dialogues. Log into your Facebook accounts and become a part of such thought-provoking discussions with geniuses. Penguin Random House India has come up with a five-part video series, #SpeakUp, where the renowned journalist Pragya Tiwari will be in conversation with five outstanding female Penguin authors. The SpeakUp conversations will happen every Monday starting April 27 from 9 pm onwards till May 25, on their Penguin India's Facebook page. The online event will feature prominent authors like Kavita Krishnan, Puja Mehra, Samra Zafar, Shiromi Pinto and Sohaila Abdulali. They are going to be talking about the trials and tribulations faced by women during the Covid-19 lockdown and otherwise.
Each author is going to focus on specific problems during these conversations and each session will be of 30 minutes. Kavita Krishnan would talk about safety and personal freedom of women, Puja Mehra will cover the monetary aspect of it, Samra Zafar will be discussing how the lockdown is affecting women, Shiromi Pinto on the reasons why female artists and architects are forgotten and lastly Sohaila Abdulali will highlight domestic violence and sexual abuse in her part of the coversation.
