This just in – India and Sri Lanka are going to be connected via road. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari recently announced that plans of a sea bridge and a tunnel are in the pipeline in order to increase connectivity within South East Asia. Bye bye long airport lines.
There have also been talks to increase seamless flow of traffic between India and Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. Delhi peeps can expect to be able to drive down to Kathmandu, Pokhra and possibly even Dhaka.
We can’t wait to pack up our trunks and embark on a road trip to the island and to the rest of our neighbours!
