Vacay Time! Check Out These 10 Destinations For Their Epic Summer Adventures

The information in this post might be outdated

The only reason we enjoy this time of the year is because summer means VACATIONS! There has to be some prize for tolerating the sweltering Indian summer, don’t you think? This season, we wanted some adventure in our lives and so, we made a list of things that we are doing this summer (‘coz we got no time to waste).

Motorcycle Riding From Kochi To Munnar

This one trail brings out the biker in us. Fly in with IndiGo, land in Kochi, rent a bike and start a 5-hour long trip to the tea (and chocolate) paradise. The route is an incline in the beginning (avoid taking cruiser bikes) but with beautiful sights. Don’t forget to make a few pit stops in between to enjoy a cup of tea and take in the greenery.

Scuba Diving In The Andamans

How does one attain peace in this century? Go scuba diving. Shut out the noise of this world and swim with the fishes. That is what we want summers to be all about. Take a flight to Port Blair, and then you reach the sandy gates to underwater heaven in Andamans.

Dune Bashing In Dubai

Is Dubai only about shopping, intense heat and beautifully tall structures? Hell, no! It is also about the thrill of sitting, strapped in a 4×4, bashing through the dunes. This is the closest you will come to releasing all that pent-up road rage. But the epic part is when you drive on the sand with the desert sunset for a backdrop, and end your day with a lavish Emirati meal. So get your tickets with IndiGo now.

Wildlife In The Sundarbans

We will spend the rest of our year boasting about visiting one of the natural wonders of the world. Head to the Sundarbans Wildlife Sanctuary (right next to the National Park) for some Bengal Tiger action. The closest airport is Kolkata, and it is a two-hour scenic car ride to the sanctuary. Go feel them royal feels.

Waterfall Rappelling At Kondana Buddhist Caves

It’ll be like the movie Vertigo (without the sad situations) just with water instead of snow. Rappelling down a gushing waterfall all harnessed and secure (you’ve got to be safe) is an epic feeling. When you land in Mumbai, take a train to Karjat and a rickshaw from there to the caves. You will be famished after this, so make sure you try a lot of bhajjis (or pakoras), spicy poha and vada pav right after!

Cycling Through Sikkim

Your journey begins at Bagdogra Airport courtesy IndiGo, from where you transfer to Gangtok. Once you reach Gangtok, spend a night and acclimatise. The next day, start your ride to Rumtek village and don’t forget to check out the Rumtek Monastery moving on to Temi, the only tea garden in Sikkim. You can cover the entirety of Sikkim in a mere 10 days, but just remember that the ride can be a little trying with uphill inclines (though the downhill ones do make up for it).

Hot Air Ballooning In Kashmir

Flying high in the sky with a view of Gulmarg from the top – this is exactly what you’ll get when you go hot air ballooning. Take a flight to Srinagar, and then drive down to Gulmarg. Don’t opt for the usual skiing (though in summer, it would be hard not to). Instead, climb the wicker basket and enjoy the wind beneath your wings.

Kayaking On Kali River In Dandeli

Three hours from Panjim airport, right in Karnataka, you will find Kali river. This river, with its temperamental nature, is nothing short of perfect for kayaking. There are other things like zorbing that can be done as well, but sitting peacefully in a kayak, rowing and enjoying the sights is what we’d much prefer to do.

Hiking Around Kathmandu

Fresh out of the airport {on comfy IndiGo flights}, you can pick any direction to walk in and you will find yourself on a beautiful hiking trail in Kathmandu. To add to that, the food here never disappoints and the weather is always pleasant. Hiking in the lap of the mountains is what summer vacations are all about.

Skydiving At Aamby Valley

You can either fly into Mumbai or Pune and drive down to Aamby Valley in Lonavala for your Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara moment. Jump off the plane, with a view of the valley, embrace the adventure junkie in you and come down after you’ve had a unique, out-of-body experience. Oh, the feels!

Honestly, these are just a few of the things that we are trying this summer – there is a lot more to go. But the best part about all this is that our flights to all these cities are covered with IndiGo – we just have to manage the rest. If you are looking at making your travel plans for the summer then get your tickets here.
