There are two things in life that I am completely clueless about: first, mercury retrograde, and second, mercury on the rise in Delhi. While my Gen-Z brain has learned the hard way to deal with the first one (taking it slow, no yapping, and letting myself be), the second one remains the enemy of my summer plans because, frankly, my desire to step outside is low when the heat reading a 100 degrees. But does that mean I'll stop trying (and making up scenarios for 'hot girl summer')? Hell no! So here I am, sharing LBB's list of 'doable' things to do in Delhi during the summer, so neither you nor I end up as bummers.

Indoor Activities FTW

Nothing groundbreaking here. The idea is to do fun stuff that doesn't require you to brave the scorching heart outside but still get that dose of adrenaline rush. Our pick is Climb Central, the indoor rock climbing space where you can spend your day choosing among top-rope, speed climb, use the autobelays or simply freestyle! What we like most is that it's super beginner-friendly so even though you have no prior experience of climbing, you will get through it just fine, thanks to their easy-to-learn safety systems and briefing. However, if climbing doesn't align with your mood, check out our list here for more indoor activity options in Delhi.

Reading With A Change Of Scenery

It's that time of year when you can officially say goodbye to your reading slump and settle in with a few easy-to-read books that will transport you to a fictional world and make you forget how hot and sweaty it is outside. Of course, there's nothing better than your cosy reading nook at home, but if you want a change of scenery, go to Kunzum in GK. A bookstore where you can go book shopping or sit quietly by the large bookshelves and enjoy some complimentary coffee while reading your next book.

LBB-tip: Looking for more book stores in Delhi? Don't miss on our list here.

Grocery Run But Bougie

Foodstories is a food and retail experience like never before in Delhi. From what we have seen on Instagram, Foodstories is a foodie's shopping haven — from farm-fresh delights and artisanal cheese to handcrafted chocolates and a global pantry filled with gourmet finds. You know you are adulting when groceries excite you and this is one place that will make you feel like a kid in a candy store. Also, they have an in-house cafe, and smoothie, and tonic bar to make your grocery run even better! They also have a studio kitchen where you can host your own food workshops, shoot content for the 'gram, or simply cook together with  friends! Let's end by saying that Delhi now has it's own equivalent to Erewhon and we can't wait to explore!

Gallery Hopping

Imagine yourself wandering through the halls of an art gallery (or two) and taking in all the beauty and depth the artworks have to offer. While the air-conditioning will keep you from melting off, the artworks will feed your soul, a slow summer outing is just what you need in Delhi's hustle-bustle! Our pick is the National gallery Of Modern Art to spend the day admiring impeccable artworks and infrastructure, followed by Bikaner House (which isn't too far), an art and cultural hub that exhibits beautiful artwork collections and always has some or the other fun event happening in their ballroom.

Go For Movies

'See you at the movies' should be the text message you reply with to every friend wanting to hang out with you in Dilli ki garmi. Air-conditioning, buttery popcorn, fountain Coca Cola and a crisp flick on the big screen — all the goodies you need for a fail-proof movie night. Obviously, head to any cinema hall of your choice, probably one near your home, or go to Director's Cut in Ambience Mall if you are feeling bougie and need those comfy reclining seats.

Medi Facials To Keep The Skin Protected

Let's just start by saying that Team LBB feels medi-facial procedures are the current it thing. While you spend a bit more than you would like on a facial, it's more effective, tailored to your skin's needs and safe as well since there's a medical practitioner assessing your skin prior to it, and not your usual parlour aunty. We recommend you check out the The Express Cryofacial at The Wellness Co. in Def Col. It is a completely non-invasive and a pain free facial that uses vaporized liquid nitrogen to provide various benefits for your skin. It boosts collagen production, enhances circulation and oxygenation, and revitalises the skin in only a few minutes, just the pick-me-up your skin needs to beat the heat. It's super summer friendly, with lasting effects of upto five months.

Swimming

'I feel like a dolphin' are the words we are chasing this summer in terms of our glow as well as our actions. Bring those swimsuits out 'cause we are hitting the pool folks! Swimming is undeniably the most summerish activity there can be, so it only makes sense that you make use of this time and don't regret in the winters. Also, if you don't know how to swim, consider this a sign to take it up this summer! Siri Fort Sports Complex is the place we are going this summer, however, check out our list here to find one near you!

Cold + Sweet Treats

We have nothing against winters but we will collectively agree that summer treats are the real MVPs. Rasgulla, falooda, lassi, kulfi, bubble tea, iced lattes and ice creams are the only 'sugar' we want (iykyk). Speaking about the last one, we are currently fixated on Snowberry, an artisanal dessert spot in CP doing really nice Bingsu (Korean shredded ice cream) and fresh fruit ice creams.

Dinner > Lunch

The subheading explains it all! We hope our friends take the hint and start taking dinner plans more seriously, because we really can't deal with eating hot food while being toasted in the sun. If you need help with recommendations, here's our list of fail-proof restaurants in Delhi. Since we are not ones to gatekeep, we will share that our current favourite dinner spot is Inja for its truly exceptional food that captivates you with its unique Indian and Japanese fusion. The immaculate ambience and hands-on staff does the 'fine' in fine dining justice.

But, if you are looking for a more casual spot, check out Cafe Pero in Gurugram. We love the sustainable and community-driven approach to the cafe, plus how they are serving non-gimmicky food using organic and locally sourced ingredients.

Cocktail Plans Are In

A lovely martini, great company and laidback vibes are what our summer weekends look like. Sip your plans away because there's nothing a spiked bevie can't solve. Our list here covers all the nice cocktails in Delhi. The bar we are currently eyeing is Strangr in GK which is a low-key dive bar, perfect for enjoying non-gimmicky clean cocktails and great music in a laidback setting.
