Supergoop! is an American sun-care brand that has been a viral product producing machine, creating one stellar sunscreen formula after the other. If you have even a speck of fascination with sunscreens like we do (because they are the most non-negotiable skincare product to own) or spend your free time watching celebrity's Vogue Beauty Secrets vlog on YouTube (the real ones know that's a treasure trove), then we are sure you have already entertained the wish of owning at least one Supergoop! formula.

But, to all of ours collective dismay, the brand doesn't sell in India yet (here's wishing our friends at Nykaa take the hint, maybe?) so girl math pushes us to look for dupes, which we did the legwork for and as preachers of not gatekeeping, are sharing them below for you to try out. And who knows, maybe delay if not drop total plans to get your hands on the real deal for a while.

We would like to happily report that this viral of a dupe for the even more viral Supergoop! Unseen SPF 40 is finally available in India so all of us can abandon our hunt for a gel-based sunscreen that feels like nothing on the skin.

The alternative product is from none other than the viral dupe generator, e.l.f. Cosmetics. The e.l.f. Cosmetics Suntouchable! Invisible Sunscreen and the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40 (notice how e.l.f. picked the '!' for their baby's name too?) are both chemical sunscreens (learn about the difference between chemical and mineral sunscreens here) that have a clear, transparent formula which leave no traces of white cast. Both of these are water-resistant and feature a velvety, smooth gel feel which sits exceptionally well on combination and oily skin types. Also, the similar colour combination for the packaging is  e.l.f.'s classic move to tell you it's a 'dupe'.

Moving on, both of these have silicones that tend to fill the pores and give the sunscreen formula a blurring effect to it. Mind you, the e.l.f. Cosmetics Suntouchable! Invisible Sunscreen has much more intense blurring action and does the job of a pore-filling primer with its slightly powdery feel whereas the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen has more of a skin-like satin finish.

The Supergoop! Glowscreen SPF 40 is a sunscreen particularly liked by dry skin folks on the other side of the world for how well it hydrates the skin and primes for makeup with a radiant glowing finish. It's infused with minute pearlescent shimmers to give the skin a dewy finish that makes girlies look like their sweat glands are sweating pearls. After much doom-scrolling, the closest alternative we could find to this sunscreen in terms of how it looks on the skin was the Thank You Farmer Sun Project Shimmer Sunscreen which is also a chemical sunscreen similar to the Supergoop! Glowscreen. With all honesty, ingredients, SPF protection and texture aren't identical in both of these but the end result is the same since both give a lovely luminous finish.

The Glowscreen is a little thick and is tinted (comes in four different shades) while the Thank You Farmer Sun Project Shimmer Sunscreen's consistency is a bit more runny and has a pink undertone to it (which looks very similar to the MAC Strobe Cream in Pinklite for those who have used it in the past). the former provides an SPF of 40 while the latter has an SPF of 30 which is okay if you reapply your sunscreen diligently. The main point of commonality apart from the pearly finish is that both of these are water-based and contain hydrating ingredients like glycerin and natural oils and extracts to keep the skin hydrated.

(Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder SPF 35

The Derma Co. 100% Mineral Powder Sunscreen

The Derma Co. 100% Mineral Powder Sunscreen

The (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder SPF 35 is Supergoop's mineral setting powder that mattifies, sets makeup and applies sunscreen with a soft brush that dispenses the powder. The reason for the hype of this product is the convenient packaging with the soft bristle brush that helps you reapply your sunscreen on the go. And since it's in powder form, it's great for using over makeup since it saves you from making a goopy mess by using liquid sunscreens. Also, it diffuses light and diminishes the appearance of pores, creating a soft-focus finish which is a welcoming thought for those who get greasy frequently.

The dupe we found from The Derma Co. is their 100% Mineral Powder Sunscreen which actually has an SPF of 50 whereas the (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder from Supergoop! has an SPF of 35. Both of these are mineral-based formulas and have silica in large concentration which is hugely responsible for giving it the powdery feel. While (Re)setting 100% Mineral Powder has ceramides to give the formula some sort of emollient for keeping the skin from getting parched, the The Derma Co. 100% Mineral Powder Sunscreen has vitamin E to do the same job. Not to forget, our dupe here has a similar brush dispensing mechanism. However, it comes in only one universal shade whereas the one from Supergoop! has four.

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Stick SPF 40

Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+

Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+

₹3390

Sunscreen sticks have become a popular choice for reapplication since you simply pop out the stick and glide it over your face. The Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Stick SPF 40 has a chokehold on the content creator girlies in the west for how easy-peasy it is to use on-the-go (thanks to the stick packaging) and unlike most sunscreen sticks, it has a clear, transparent formula that blends seamlessly into the skin sans any harsh rubbing or tugging.

Our contender for the dupe here is the Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+. Now, let us make it clear that there isn't much of a price difference between the two so if you have the means to get the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Stick SPF 40, you might as well get that, but if availability is an issue and you still wish to get your hands on a high-performance transparent sunscreen stick, then get the Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick which has an even higher SPF of 50 and comes with the exact same sunscreen filters as the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Stick that are Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate and Octocrylene.

Supergoop! Protec(tint) Daily Skin Tint SPF 50 is a tinted sunscreen that comes in fourteen shades to choose from. In addition to keeping your skin protected from the sun with an SPF of 50, its purpose is to give light coverage to the skin and work as a skin tint for giving you a light, even base that's perfect for everyday wear. Also, it has skin loving ingredients like hyaluronic acid-infused clay to simultaneously help the skin.

The Maybelline New York Fit Me Fresh Tint too has an SPF of 50 with titanium dioxide being the only common sunscreen filter with the Supergoop! one. It is enriched with vitamin C which is meant to brighten the skin with regular use which is great. And similar to the Supergoop! Protec(tint), it is perfect for using daily as a skin tint that gives that natural-looking buildable base. The only issue we is that, the shade range is half as Supergoop!
