Be A Stilt Walker
Suro Treehouse in Shoghi is a world away from Shimla’s over-commercialisation, offering quiet time in its Himachali pinewood houses. You’re always overlooking the valley here, eating food that’s locally sourced and picnicking in the greenest meadows.
Be A Stilt Walker
This boutique hotel deftly marries traditional charm with modern amenities so you can pretend to be a part of a Swiss chocolate advertisement and forget you’re just 16 km from Shimla.
The last stretch of the drive is through a bumpy dirt track that leads up to this charming retreat; it really takes you in the middle of a pinewood forest.
If you’re going for a never-ending morning coffees with bae kinda holiday, the individual chalets are cosy and intimate. If however, you’re going with the folks, the duplex chalet will give you space and quality time.
Pick Berries In Green Meadows
There isn’t much you can do here apart from sitting at your chalet bench and looking at fireflies. In the afternoons though, we recommend tagging along with a guide for a nature walk where you’ll be awestruck to find a stream, forlorn thatched huts, sprawling meadows, beautiful birds and even trees with wild berries.
You can also rent bikes and take on mountain tracks, or opt for a village tour of the surrounding Suro village where you’ll see how people can live a happy life without malls or Wi-Fi.
#LBBTip
The good peeps at Suro organise bonfires and camping trips if you want to spot constellations and drink wine under the stars.
