Delhi By Foot and Kunzum are curating a one-of-a-kind pujo experience on Sept 27. The Bus-a-Thon will kick off on Maha Sapatami and will take the visitors to some of Delhi’s iconic puja pandals {including a 107-years-old one} to witness the aarti, dhaak, rituals and pujo food {roshogulla, yay!} all packed in.
Take This Durga Puja Special Night Bus To Enjoy Pandal Hopping, Fish Fry & Stories On The Go
What Is It?
Who Is It For?
Everyone who wants to soak in the unique flavours of Durga Puja without having to drive through half of Delhi and without as much as a clue about where the best Fish fry can be found.
If you’re interested in rituals, traditions and typical Bong food, this one is going to be a ball.
Love stories? Intrigued by oral tradition? We hear Ramit Mitra, the walk lead, is curating the quintessential puja experience that will be spattered with personal anecdotes and mythological stories of the good versus evil battle where Goddess Durga slays demon Mahishasur. Think history lessons with a twist.
Why Should I Go For It?
The best way to enjoy Durga Puja’s many facets is through the eyes of a proud Bengali and this bus tour will be conducted by one.
Ramit will also take the bus-a-thon participants through the entire process where people observe worship rituals in the backdrop of changing musical notes. The reverberating and diverse sounds of the shonkho {conch}, kanshor {cymbals} and ghonta {bell} will all come to life at a 107-years-old Durga Puja which happens to be the oldest and most celebrated in Delhi. You’re obviously free to linger around at other pandals too… Gazing at the idols, admiring the decorations or just chilling with your bus gang.
The evening {to midnight} tour promises a wholesome experience that’s been a hit the last six years. You’ll ride the festive wave as the mood changes from the calm bondhon {welcoming Goddess Durga} to the frenzied dhaak {beating of the traditional drums}. This will be followed by a peaceful aarti {evening prayer}.
Of course, what cultural experience is complete without a traditional feast, right? So, this one will include all the special Bong fare.
Anything Else?
The ticket prices start at INR 1,500 if you go in a group of four or more but if you’re flying solo, you’ll need to pay INR 1,650.
