A home furnishing and decor store at the new Mall of India caught our eye, and we went in to explore their spreads, sheets and cloth bags.

Bagging Some Summer

While exploring the newly opened Mall of India, a cotton kurta on one of the mannequins in one of the stores caught our attention, and we chanced upon this absolutely delightful store, Tarini. Tarini is the brainchild of Shashi Sehgal, who launched it way back in the 1990s, probably one of the youngest women entrepreneurs of her time. The label was launched for home linen, and has now gradually expanded to bags and clothes, among other things.

Budget Boardings

The interiors are really chic, done up in sophisticated wooden furniture, with dim-lights. Since usually interiors reveal a lot about pricing, we were confident that we’d exit the store with our wallets relatively lighter. But the price tags were a pleasant surprise; most items in the store are moderately priced and won’t burn a hole in your pocket! Apart from the extensive collection of gorgeous, naturally dyed kurtas, starting from INR 600, we loved their durries, which was priced at INR 750. We also saw two varieties of cloth bags with ethnic prints—one with cloth straps {what a steal at INR 350!} and the other with leather straps, for INR 900.

Cloth Curators

The current designs are summery, and you can team them up with almost all your outfits. There also have lovely cotton pouches for INR 260, to keep all the coins/change and other knick-knacks we carry! If you’re planning to redo your home, you must look through their bedsheet collection, tablecloths, runners and cushion covers to find the perfect linen to match your furniture and walls. We really appreciate the fact that they handed our shopping to us in cloth bags, {non-chargeable for a change!}. They also had some really intricately designed silver jewellery at the billing counter. If you’re ready to shell out the moolah, you won’t be able to say no to these earrings!
