Made out of wood, I got this cute little box from Tatsat, a gift shop that has a ton of lifestyle products that have been sourced from artisans all over the country. I love that most of their collection comes from NGOs, fair trade organisations and underprivileged women so their quirky products aren't just cute, they also help support a ton of people.
The wooden box is handcrafted and the owls on it are adorable, and it's super high quality and the design is very clear, too, so it could make for a really cute gift for a friend.
While you could use it as a pencil case, since I'm out of school and don't really travel for work, I like using it more to store knickknacks that I'm constantly misplacing like earrings, rings or even paper clips at my work (from home) desk. The box is pretty sturdy and doesn't open up randomly so I could even see myself travelling with it and keeping smaller, fragile things in it so they don't get damaged in transit.
