The Balhaar is an online womenswear label offering a curated collection of Indian wear sourced from weavers across the country. Their saree collection featuring Ikkats, Maheshwari cotton, Chanderi tissues, Mangalgiri cotton and cotton silks is our favourite. We particularly loved their Ajrakh modal silk sarees in earthy hues of crimson red, indigo, black and more. Their Kota Doria collection is pretty vibrant with bright pinks, yellows, greens and blues dominating the saree range.
If you're looking for something more festive, you must check out their Kota silk sarees. The white ones with gotapatti work and golden embroidery look surreal! The Balhaar's got some pretty floral designs as well. But if you're looking to make a statement, their Kota silk blue saree with woven zari triangle is the piece you're looking for. For casual wear or workwear, check out their indigo Kota cotton sarees and Ikkats with contrasting pallus and borders. Prices start from about INR 1900.
For intricate prints, be sure to check out their Chaandan by Chanderi sarees. Handwoven with hand block prints, these come with a beautiful pallu that will definitely garner everyone's attention. The Balhaar's got salwar suit fabrics on their site too. Our pick is their gotapatti kurta fabric but you can also check out their dual-coloured Maheshwari suits and Ikkat suit sets. They've got naturally dyed stoles in Ajrakh, cotton and Kota too.
