Visit The City Of Lakes For A Royal Weekend Getaway

What Makes It Awesome

With more than five famous lakes, Udaipur is a paradise for people with a thirst for comfort, good food, scenery and rich culture. In my opinion, Udaipur should be on every Indian's list of 'places to visit before you die'.

Royalty is in the air in Udaipur, especially at the extravagant City Palace that is located in the heart of the town; or you can visit HH the Queen's own favourite Saheliyon-ki-bari, with multiple, beautiful fountains.

The City Palace is the biggest tourist attraction, and though it's usually extremely crowded it shouldn't be missed. You can spot the famous Oberoi Udaivilas at a distance.

With a lot of spots to explore, Udaipur is a peaceful place to enjoy your holidays.

What Could Be Better?

Transportation is a nuisance - the auto wallas charge a lot even for short distances.

What's My Pro Tip?

Try finding a hotel near Hanuman Ghat, as it's definitely the place to be in Udaipur. Almost all the tourist spots, gardens and palaces are near the Hanuman Ghat.

For lodging, you won't find a problem as there are a variety of hotels to choose from, ranging from cheap to uber luxurious.

The best time to visit is between October and March.

Anything Else?

People in this city are extremely kind and helpful. It's very safe for an all girls trip as well. Buses, trains and flights can be used to reach this town.
