The Grand Venice Mall, Greater Noida’s newest themed mall just got Terrazzo – a massive food court that can accommodate 1,300 hungry visitors at the same time. Besides, there are water canals where gondolas float free, musical fountains and even a replica of Leaning Tower Of Pisa. Cough cough.

Tall Claims Much?

We hear that the food court is going to be a mix of casual, fun cafes and fine-dining restaurants. You can hope to see Karim’s, Dakshin Xpress, Evergreen Chaat, Kulfiano, Moti Mahal, Chicago Pizza, Long Noodles, Rolls King and more. So, if the grease from Moti Mahal’s dal makhni doesn’t make you slip into a food coma, you can perhaps follow up a meal with a ride on that gondola with friends and family?

More good {hopefully non garish} news: The elaborate architecture aint going nowhere but there’s hope because they intend to make the food court a fun activity space with a calendar packed with events. A handicrafts village could come up or you might bump into a string of state emporiums on a particular day. Or you can wait for the world market and folk performances that will bring everything exciting from Balinese masks to Turkish lace and street theatre.

Not the arty-farty types? They’ve planned a world food festival with mulled wine, German bratwurst as well.

So, We’re Saying…

We’re still trying to wrap our heads around a Venetian-themed mall that has Karim’s and gondolas in the same place but we’ll plan a trip soon if just for novelty sake because, hey, boasting rights in the form of “I sat in a gondola with bae and asked her out holding a chicken tikka roll in my hand”. SIGH.
