What Makes It Awesome

The Khadi Cult is a Surat-based sustainable clothing label that’s sprucing up the good ol’ khadi fabric with its bold colours and fun prints (read kettles and watermelon).

We’re all for sustainable clothing but more often than not, we find ourselves with options limited to neutral and pastel-coloured clothes. The Khadi Cult, therefore, comes as a refreshing change.

Officially launched in 2017, The Khadi Cult was born out of Priyanshi Jariwala’s love for handwoven fabrics and organic dyes. With an intention to perk up the regular khadi and make it appealing to a younger audience, Priyanshi creates clothing that incorporates a lot of bright hues and prints.

We’re usually not a fan of so much colour but The Khadi Cult’s doing decor and clothes with the most funky and vibrant prints! A case in point is their watermelon print dress that celebrates summer and looks so easy-breezy. Their nimbu mirchi and kettle sliders, the hawaldar shirt dress, and their adorable kid's clothes are some of our other favourites. They’ve also got a decent menswear collection that the experimental avant-garde man will love.

On the home decor front, check out Khadi Cult’s wall hangings that can make the most boring of walls look peppy. We’re also crushing on their teakwood foldable chairs that are super functional and look even better.

Pro Tip

All their clothes are personalised. So, if you’ve seen a particular dress on their page but would want the same without sleeves or with pockets, the folks at The Khadi Cult are more than happy to customise (they don’t charge extra for these small alterations either).

At the moment, they retail only through their website. They deliver across India for no extra charge for orders above INR 5,000.

Price: Starting at INR 300 (earrings) + INR 100 shipping charges for orders below under INR 5,000.
