The Loom Art is a beautiful label that wants to move away from the fast fashion obsessed lifestyle. This label's vision is to rejuvenate the lost art of handloom fashion, and support local artisans in the process. At The Loom Art, you can find wonderfully crafted blouses, skirts, and dresses in delicate, pure fabrics like silks, cottons, and wool with fine embroidered work on them. Beyond apparel, their online store also has sustainably made accessories like bags, stationery and home decor.
The label has quite a vintage feel to it; you can see older silhouettes like square necklines, balloon sleeves and longer dress lengths. You can also expect to see a fair amount of Sujani embroideries, bead work and other forms of surface embellishment they get done from their karigars in places like West Bengal, Jaipur and Murshidabad.
Apart from women's wear, this brand also offers fun, weaved jackets, blazers, bow-ties, and shirts for men. The patched jackets, especially, give off a very cool, effortless vibe and the shirts are a great breakaway from the typical polos and stripes.
We loved browsing through the apparel by collection; the Permanent Vacation collection with its lightweight, flowy dresses looked like it belonged right on a beach but our personal favourite has to be the Vintage Summer collection that was an '80s throwback of our dreams.
The bowties in their accessories section would make for awesome gifts for the men in your life, be it your dad, brother or a friend. If you like the kitschy, eclectic vibe, they have a lot of coasters in different prints you can mix and match and their women's bags are so fun and colourful along with being sturdy thanks to the quality of fabrics they use.
This Jaipur-based label is one of the finer additions in the sustainable lifestyle movement. Although it is pricey, we're absolutely loving their vibe and style.
Price: Apparel starts at INR 2,900; accessories start at INR 280
