Even though this restaurant is best known for their gargantuan burger, the Juicy Lucy, there is so much more to Cafe Delhi Heights that it will take you several meals before you're done with their menu. Apart from the living room style comfort of their interiors, they have a casual homely vibe that allows you to visit in summer shorts for a late evening family meal and then go back the next day in a pan suit for a work meeting, it's all cool at Cafe Delhi Heights.
Much like their vibe even the menu is a mix of Indian, regional Indian and World cuisine, so there's something for everyone, but we decided to drop by when we heard about their Mango Menu! It's that wonderful time of the year when mangoes are on most menus and being mango lovers, we couldn't be happier! The Mangolicious Menu has a slew of drinks, soup, starters, mains and obviously desserts. We skipped the Mango Lassi and shake and went straight for the more potent, No Hangover Mango Mojito, a blend of all the classics spiked with fresh mangoes and it was super refreshing in this terrible weather. The good thing about the Mangolicious menu was that a few of the dishes were a new take or shall I say, 'mango' take on classic dishes, like the Gazpacho, a crisp, cool, soup, the Avocado Toast, which was a blend of creamy avocados and pulpy sweet mangoes. We opted for the Hummus with Mango Salsa and we loved it, the slightly tart and deeply sweet mangoes added not only texture to the creamy hummus but a nice summery kick as well. We also chose the Mango Salsa Verde (yes that's how yummy the Mango Salsa was), this was served with a grilled chicken breast and made for a light yet substantial summer meal. The ideal accompaniment for this meal was the Greca salad, a mix of fresh mangoes, cucumber, bell peppers, black and green olives and feta cheese. What a feast? And that too with our favourite summer ingredient!
As much as we love the Galouti and the Khao Suey at Cafe Delhi Heights, it was a good change to indulge in a whole new culinary experience at one of our favourite cafes.
