I was so sceptical of this brand and now I can't stop raving about it and recommending it to every pet parent I know! The Modern Tail is a Mumbai-based queer-run business with pet grooming products and has a stellar collection of shampoo and conditioner bars for dogs and cats, among other products. The brand came into existence two years ago when founders Anuja and Rupa were struggling to find good grooming products for their own dogs (Leia and Kloof). Since they were using organic shampoo bars themselves, they created one for their collies as well. They have pH balanced shampoo bars for dogs and cats, made with all-natural, safe-to-use ingredients and extremely cute packaging! A sustainable option as there is no use of plastic, takes less storage space, is easy to travel with and it'll last longer than a regular shampoo.
I am a proud mother to two dogs—Timmy and Taco—and I am extremely careful about their diet as well as what I use on their skin. And it was such a relief to find a brand that is just as obsessed as I am. I got my hands on their Tick Off shampoo bar, Tick Me Not conditioner bar and Boo Boo balm, and all three of them have worked wonderfully for both my dogs. Timmy and Taco have long fur coats that get dirty so quickly (it's a joke!), I have to wash them every 10 days. I've been using this duo for a little over a month now and while I would have emptied a regular shampoo bottle till now, I still have a good chunk of the bar left that will easily last me for another four to five washes (for two dogs). It has drastically reduced bath time, is super convenient and works really well, I know this because I expect to find a tick or two during summers but since I've switched to this shampoo, I am happy to report that there have been no sightings, thanks to ingredients like neem and citronella oil.
I've been on the lookout for a good conditioner for a while now, and this one is doing all the right things. It's got coconut oil, kokum butter, neem oil and other soothing and hydrating ingredients! Their coat has never felt so soft and floofy. The Boo Boo balm is another cool product that can be used on small cuts, burns and rashes. It comes in a tin, melts as soon as you put your finger on it, and has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties, which help accelerate healing without making the situation worse.
All in all, I am super happy to join the pack and will be repeatedly shopping from this brand!
