What Makes It Awesome
Walk in to Hotel Siddhartha and look to your right—tucked away in a little corner, The Old Baker is one of the cutest little bakeries you’ll come across.
Their rectangular cakes are sent down directly from baking heaven. Their flavours range among Black Forest, Chocolate Truffle, Fruitcakes, Classic Pineapple, and Dry Fruit. They also have a Cake of the Month.
Just in case you can’t devour a whole cake on your own (for obvious reasons), they do offer a selection of chocolate doughnuts, muffins, and pastries. For a dose of savoury, order a sandwich.
What Could Be Better
The only thing we can think of is that these guys need to stock more of their delicious cakes—the limited quantity just isn't enough for everyone to get a slice (pun intended).
Pro Tip
If you go to this bakery post 8.30pm, chances are, it’ll look like it’s been robbed. Well, kind of.
This is because from 8pm–10pm, everything at the bakery is at 40% off and just as you’d guess, the line starts forming in front of it at about 7.45pm.
It tends to get a little crazy since they only have a number of cakes available everyday and it’s first-come-first-serve. So, if you want to score your favourite flavour, you might want to get there a little early or you’re bound to find yourself in an awkward stare-off with the next door cake hoarder.
