Kickin' It Old-School

Gurgaon’s newbie brewery is a massive throwback; the old-school cooking techniques, all of your dad’s favourite music and vintage decor leaves you feeling like you’ve taken a trip to the past. Spread over two floors {including a really nice rooftop}, The Old School Brewhouse has lots of wooden panels and brick walls, a wood-fired oven and even a huge barbecue.

Both the bars {one on the terrace, as well} are really pretty, and we can already imagine throwing a massive sundowner at The Old School Brewhouse.

Dishing On The Grub

We started our meal with an unusual soup substitute; tender pieces of chicken, quinoa and parmesan foam were served with a big helping of chicken broth and the combination was surprisingly nice. The kind of chicken soup our soul needs, really.

The non-vegetarian mezze platter, served with four kinds of dips {including a delish hummus}, was a huge winner. Each protein was duly represented – chicken, lamb and even fish satays – along with pita bread and veggies.

Their wood-fired pizzas are square-shaped; another old-school element to the food. Don’t forget to try ;their Bhut Jolokhia menu items; wings and some pork belly. Keep water {or beer} on hand though, because this’ll burn.

We ended our meal with a warm chocolate brownie {served with a bit of a flaming surprise!} and a big helping of their All American Banana Split.

Good Times Are Brewing

Wheat or lager, the Old School Brewhouse is currently pouring six types of beers. Their Lager was quite nice; we’d definitely recommend getting a glass to beat the heat, now that summer is upon us.

However, alcohol-wise, what stole the show was their Wasabi in a Mug cocktail. Vodka, ginger and lime with all the flavour of wasabi and none of the pungency; this one pairs well with everything. It’s served in a copper mug, which, we were informed, helps cut some of the sinus-clearing, eye-watering tang of wasabi.

So We're Saying...

The Old School Brewhouse is great for large groups; they’ve got beer, sharing platters and a menu that’s diverse enough to accommodate all kinds of tastes and preferences. Weekend plans sorted?
