Do you have any family or friends visiting from out of town? Arranging to show them the sights can be difficult and time-consuming, especially now that the holidays are over. Fear not! Download the handy Tour De Delhi app. It’s almost like having Delhi in your pocket.
The application was built by IIIT Delhi students as a part of a Human Computer Design project. We all know that {unfortunately}, many of these monuments, museums, and tourist sites don’t always have the best websites to check out the essentials such as contact details, timings, fees, etc. Considering the lack of quality mobile applications to guide tourists in Delhi, some students took matters into their own hands, and created Tour De Delhi. And are we grateful! There are so many great features to this app that even the most seasoned Dehlite can find somewhere new to tour.
The application can be downloaded from Google Play and is quite simple, yet it includes a wealth of information. Some of its features include a list of tourist attractions from India Gate to Birla Mandir, and numerous others. There’s a beautiful photo gallery of the spots you're looking to visit. And if you have no idea about the history of the listed tourist attractions, Tour De Delhi includes key information from their wikipedia pages. Last but not least, there are location features. These features include updated phone numbers, locations and directions on Google Maps, days and timings for each spot, the nearest metro station, and entry fees. There’s even a feature to connect with others by writing your own feedback, and reading the reviews and feedback on every tourist spot listed.
Tour De Delhi has a beautiful and streamlined interface. It's easy to use, and great for flicking through those Delhi landmarks and hotspots. So there’s really no excuse to miss a tourist attraction the next time you, your friend, or your family checks out this amazing city of ours; think of it as your own personal tour guide.
