Rehwa, known for its gorgeous weaves and pocket friendly prices, will be in town exhibiting their exquisite collection of sarees, stoles and yardage.
Patrons love Rehwa for its gorgoeus and versatile Maheshwari sarees; combining the exquisiteness of the weave and the simplicity of the drape. Extraordinary quality, craftsmanship and exclusivity are what set these captivating drapes apart. An amalgamation of the old and the new, a hint of unique and every bit evergreen, each Rehwa piece is the perfect blend to revive a thing of beauty.
Drawn from the origins of Rehwa and traditional Maheshwari Weaving, the Revival Collection is rooted in the royal splendor of precious metal and stones. Metallic tones like Rusty Copper, Antique Silver and Bright Gold are all represented through skillful weaving in a subtle play of matte and shine. Bright emerald greens, ruby reds, deep blue sapphires, purple amethysts and orange amber form the colour base from which simple yet striking designs are created. Hints of new weaving techniques, colour plays and design themes, add a touch of freshness to this collection.
REHWA, a non-profit organisation, was started in 1979, in response to the need to revitalize the weaving industry. Exhibitions by Rehwa, brought to Delhi by Seema Sharma, a genuine art and saree lover, are an earnest attempt to sustain the hand weaving tradition of Maheshwar, and empower women weavers hence. Each of the pieces has been painstakingly crafted, using traditional techniques and the expertise of the local artisans.
Hope to see you flaunting these mesmerizing drapes soon!
The Exhibition is on for two days, 24th and 25 November, 2017 at Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, 1, Copernicus Marg, Mandi House, New Delhi
