Things To Do

With a luxury shopping mall, lovely gardens, and a museum in its vicinity, there are a bunch of things you can do in and around Chanakyapuri, and here is what we recommend.

The Chanakya Mall

Located in the heart of Lutyens' Delhi, The Chanakya brings together the best of luxury fashion, cuisine, and entertainment under one roof. Shop from Hèrmes, Chanel, Tiffany & Co., Rolex, Ralph Lauren, and more—the options are endless here. Plus, the mall also houses Noir, a high-end salon, a three-screen PVR ECX, and eateries like Café C and MKT.

Pro-Tip: You can make a day of just visiting the mall and here's our complete guide.

Nehru Park

As one of the best-maintained parks in the city, you can head to Nehru Park for a walk through nature or set up a picnic after your shopping spree around the area. You can also attend the food and music festivals that the park hosts from time to time.

National Rail Museum

Located in the vicinity of Chanakyapuri, the National Rail Museum is dedicated to the history of the Indian Railways, displaying a variety of the oldest locomotives, wagons, and carriages for you to marvel at. Spending a day here, enjoying toy train rides and 3D virtual rides, makes for a fun activity.

Nehru Memorial Museum & Library

If you went to school in Delhi, you’ve probably been to the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library on one of your field trips. Reminiscent of those school trips, the museum really delivers when it comes to keeping you informed. Located in the Teen Murti House, the museum has four major constituents—a museum, a library, a Centre for Contemporary Studies, and the Nehru Planetarium.

Pro-Tip

If all of these shopping options aren't enough, Sarojini Nagar is barely minutes away from Chanakyapuri. Here's everything you can do in Sarojini Nagar Market.
