It’s one of the oldest localities in the city, housing communities that have lived in the area for generations. It carries all the personality and old-world appeal of Fort’s beautiful buildings, while also having swanky high rises, darling bungalows and old homes that have miraculously stood the test of time. Grant Road was named after Sir Robert Grant, a former Governor of Bombay Presidency. Get off at Grant Road station, and you’re bound to smell freshly baked mawa cakes and other baked goods, and you’re also going to smell hot, gingery chai.

How To Reach: Depends on where you start! Are you taking a train? Get on the Western Line towards Churchgate, and get off right after Mumbai Central. Travelling from the Central/Harbour end? Change trains at Dadar. Want to drive there? Drive towards the South of the city using your road of choice: Eastern Freeway, WEH or Sea Link. Coming from Navi Mumbai or Ghatkopar? Once you hit Sandhurst road, head westwards. You’ll be in the vicinity in no time. Took the sea link? Drive along Worli seaface, and then past Atria, and then TAO Art Gallery. Once you’ve hit Tardeo, you’re in Grant Road!
