"There is no sincerer love than the love of food"
-George Bernard Shaw
Many a times I've searched for a place that serves good chicken in Patel Nagar, and many a times I've given Z Corner a miss only to regret that later.
This tiny little shop {wouldn't call it a restaurant} is located beside the famous empire meat shop in East Patel Nagar
The owner of the shop Mr Bhatia does not want to have a fancy seating for customers, expanding the shop space or Promoting the restaurant locally. What he believes in is the brilliant recipe his ancestors conjured up, and the awestruck loyal customers who keep coming back until his cauldrons go hollow.
The orders start pouring 10 am onwards even though the shop opens at 2 in the noon. You need to make up your mind and reach real early if you want some of that scrumptious biryani for lunch because post an hour or two of its opening, there'll be only the chicken or mutton curry and tandoori rotis left.
A maximum of 4 people can stand inside the shop and even with an air conditioner, it may get stuffy because of the lack of space. But as soon as the food arrives, you will forget everything.
Their tender chicken soaked inside keema curry prepared with desi ghee served along with tandoori rotis and onion here is the best food I have had. The rotis are hot and crispy with a hint of coriander and there's no limit to how many you can have while you're eating at the shop itself.
At first, it may seem whether two pieces of chicken are sufficient to curb your hunger but the pool of keema curry enriched with the desi ghee will make you reconsider your inference. The biryani served here is definitely a foodie's delight. It contains the same heavenly keema prepared in desi ghee.
Summing up, if you want to have food from the Z Corner, it's better to get it delivered owing to lack of space at the shop. And even if you dine there, getting served with the freshly baked rotis is another experience altogether. All the food is cooked by Mr Bhatia himself and he has been doing the same every day, for the past 2 decades and therefore, the impeccable quality stays intact. His passion to cook defines the unique flavour of the food served at his eatery.
